Designing a hiking and outdoor collection that caters to the diverse needs of outdoor enthusiasts is a challenging task. However, the purpose behind Salomon’s spring/summer 2024 designs is to enable individuals to fully immerse themselves in nature, whether it be through leisurely strolls or extensive multi-day journeys, with gear that reflects their unique styles and preferences.
“We have done a lot of work on color palettes, textures and finishes to create products that people can wear in the mountains as much as in the city, down to the most precise details, especially on the X Ultra 360 Edge shoe,” explains Pete Cameron, Product Marketing Manager for Salomon Outdoor. “Of course, these products are always using our best technologies for stability, grip, comfort and foothold. You shouldn’t have to choose between being outdoorsy and being stylish.”
The new range features outdoor-ready shoes that can also be worn in any urban setting, with the brand new X Ultra 360 Edge Mid GTX, which provides strong stability thanks to the advanced CHASSIS technology, along with reassuring protection, creating a strong feeling of confidence. Elixir Activ is the more comfortable hiking option, featuring a cushy fuzeFOAM midsole. The new Outerpath apparel range features jackets, pants and shorts that are lightweight and durable, made to face harsh conditions with a modern design.The Outerpath 2.5L Pro jacket and Outerpath 2.5L pants feature a 10K/40K waterproofness and breathability rating, and 40D rip stop fabric for durability and tear resistance. To carry all you need on your adventures, the Cross (4L, 8L and 12L) and Trailblazer (10L, 20L and 30L) backpacks are designed for multi-sports adventures with a stable, comfortable construction and pockets for hydration, gear and more.

“There has been a lot of work done to understand what consumers want to wear in the outdoors and in their everyday life,” explains Pete Cameron, Product Marketing Manager for Outdoor footwear at Salomon. “We are using a very nice pastel color palette, inspired by a mix of digital and natural colors, featuring more or less color saturation. The choice of materials and finish also helps to create a shoe that can take you up the mountains and wandering in the city. From a technical standpoint, it’s still a Salomon shoe with all the key technologies that make it stable, comfortable and grippy.”

For your day hikes or discovering new cities, the best-selling Trailblazer 30 has been updated with more comfort and more storage options. The 30-liter volume lets you store all your gear and more in one of the numerous pockets, including the main compartment with a large opening, a new back stash pocket, stretchable side pockets, including a space for hydration bladder. Carry your poles, ice axe or helmet on the outer carrying systems.
The construction features a new padded back panel and a harness shape to create more comfort and a better fit, reducing chaffing in the neck and avoiding any pain points.
