I believe change happens through engagement and collective effort.
Dear Citizen of Earth:
Skyblue Overland’s goals are to inspire explorers and adventurers, empower lives and build community. I believe change happens through engagement and collective effort. To this end, I believe 1% For The Planet helps bring like-minded businesses and communities together to activate positive change. It is for this reason that Skyblue Overland has pledged 1% of sales to the preservation and restoration of the natural environment.
In 2002, founder of Patagonia, Yvon Chouinard, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies, created a non-profit corporation to encourage other businesses to do the same. 1% For The Planet is an alliance of businesses that understand the necessity of protecting the natural environment. They understand that profit and loss are directly linked to its health, and are concerned with the social and environmental impacts of industry.
As part of our support of 1% For The Planet, a portion of our giving is provided in support of the National Forest Foundation. Natural disturbances such as wildfire, insects and disease outbreaks are jeopardizing the very things that make our forests so wonderful. That’s why the National Forest Foundation is planting 50 million trees across our National Forests.
From the rain forests and salmon streams of Southeast Alaska to the longleaf pines and aquamarine springs of Florida, the National Forest Foundation are restoring iconic National Forest locations with their conservation and corporate partners. With millions of acres in need of restoration and millions of people unaware of how National Forests enrich their lives, the NFF set forth on a campaign of restoration. They are working to restore our damaged forests and restore Americans connection to these public lands.
Skyblue Overland joins 1% For The Planet and the National Forest Foundation as they replant America’s National Forests.
Sincerely,
Brian Hamilton
