Introducing Aventon’s high-performance Ramblas EMTB, featuring an in-house designed mid-drive motor for a customizable through the Aventon app and natural riding experience. With 130mm suspension travel and a durable design, this ebike is ready to take on any terrain.

Aventon has expanded their e-bike collection with the introduction of a new model, the Ramblas. This electric mountain bike adds to Aventon’s already impressive lineup, including the highly praised Aventure 2. The release of the Ramblas showcases Aventon’s continued growth as a top e-bike brand.

Someone searching for an affordable electric mountain bike may come across Aventon’s offerings and be drawn to the Aventure 2 model, assuming it is suitable for off-road trail riding. However, despite its wide 4-inch tires, comfortable riding position, and suspension fork, the Aventure 2 is not designed for rugged trails. Its choice of components, rear hub motor, and weight of nearly 80 pounds make it challenging to ride on singletrack trails. It is too bulky and the gear range is not appropriate for tough terrain, while the components are not durable enough for heavy usage.

Boasting impressive power, a competitive price point, and an exhilarating riding experience, the Ramblas EMTB is set to make a splash. The bike features Aventon’s own mid-drive motor, which can be customized through their app for a more natural ride. With 130mm of suspension travel and a sturdy build, this ebike is well-equipped to handle any type of terrain.

Since their first appearance over a decade ago, electric mountain bikes have been seen as a way to make trail riding more accessible for a wider range of people. However, these bikes are often too pricey for the average rider, and only come with basic components or bulky hub-drive motors in order to lower the cost. This means that most hardtail e-MTBs sacrifice performance and durability on anything more than easy trails.

Aventon’s Ramblas hardtail bike is turning heads with its powerful mid-drive motor, high-quality components, and affordable $2,700 price tag. This e-bike is challenging the perception of hardtails and may even create a new product category in the world of mountain biking. Many are calling the Ramblas the most thrilling e-bike of 2024, and it could potentially usher in a new era for this sport.

Motor Highlights:

Aventon-designed motor – The mid-drive motor from Aventon was specifically designed to offer complete control to riders during their biking experience. With the ability to adjust the three pedal assist levels on Ramblas, riders can personalize their riding style and achieve a more natural feel, similar to that of a regular bike.

Power – The strength of a motor is commonly quantified by its maximum wattage output. A more powerful motor allows for maintaining a stable speed during rides. The Aventon A-100 motors are designed to provide optimal support at various pedaling speeds, even surpassing 100 rotations per minute, resulting in a smoother and more authentic riding experience.

Ramblas’ motor maintains a consistent power output of 250w, with “nominal” denoting the sustained level of energy during a standardized test for a set duration. Depending on the type of motor, turbo mode can provide a peak power output of 750 watts. This is especially useful for tackling steep inclines and rough terrain, as well as cruising through urban environments.

Torque – The force of torque is measured in newton meters (Nm) and determines how quickly and easily a motor can accelerate and climb. A motor with a higher torque will make it easier to accelerate and climb on steeper inclines.

With a powerful 100 Nm of torque, Ramblas’ motor offers smooth and consistent acceleration and climbing ability. This sets it apart from other mid-drive motors like Bosch, Brose, Yamaha, and Shimano, which only provide 90Nm of torque. The motor’s torque gradually decreases as pedal speed increases, mimicking the feeling of riding without assistance and avoiding sudden drops in power.

Waterproof – The Aventon mid-drive motor boasts an impressive IP67 waterproof rating, ensuring complete protection against dust and brief submersion in water. Unlike products that are simply “water-resistant,” the IP67 rating guarantees a higher level of protection against water entry.

To summarize:

For its cost, the Ramblas is impressively well-equipped. It has all the necessary components for off-road use: a 1×12 SRAM Eagle drivetrain, powerful 4-piston SRAM brakes, a sturdy 35mm stanchion RockShox fork, a dropper seatpost, and wide 2.4-inch tires. These are essential elements of a reliable mid-range mountain bike…and for a hardtail e-MTB priced at $2,700, these features are unbeatable in the current market.

Aventon has released the Ramblas, their first e-bike with a mid-motor and off-road capabilities. With reliable components, well-designed geometry, and a strong motor, this bike is suitable for trail riding. Its affordable price and accessibility make it a great option for expanding the reach of mountain biking to more cyclists.
