In recent years, Salomon has solidified its position as a major contender in the market for road running shoes by conducting extensive research on the biomechanics of road runners and utilizing their expertise gained from being leaders in trail running for decades. The outcome of this effort is a range of road running shoes for the Spring/Summer 2024 season that caters to the diverse needs of all types of runners. From durable and eco-friendly options to speedy and stable choices, there is something for every runner.

Salomon has crafted the DRX Bliss for runners who prioritize comfort above all else. The shoe features Active Chassis, a tried and tested technology used in their popular Genesis trail running shoe, combined with Energy Foam that provides a responsive and cushioned experience underfoot.
Salomon is pushing the boundaries of circular design and sustainable practices by introducing the latest version of its INDEX road running shoe, the INDEX.03. With a more comfortable midsole and an updated upper using fewer materials, this shoe takes another step towards end-of-life improvements. And when the time comes, the shoe can easily be disassembled and sent back to be recycled into something new, minimizing its impact and achieving true circularity.
The Aero franchise has undergone recent updates while maintaining its reliable technologies, such as Energy Foam for cushioning and energy return, and the Reverse Camber rocker sole design for swift transitions with each step. There are options for different breathability needs, including 3D, single-layer, and Engineered mesh structures. The range offers a variety of shoes suitable for all levels of runners, whether just starting out or dedicated athletes.
Salomon offers a variety of storage options that are both lightweight and durable. The Active Sling belt, with its sleek and minimalist design, is perfect for shorter excursions. For a more comfortable option, the soft and comfortable Pulse Belt can securely hold your personal belongings and water bottles without drawing unwanted attention.
In Spring/Summer 2024, Salomon will debut a new apparel collection, featuring an innovative fabric technology called Knit_Flow™. This advanced material combines ultra-modern technologies to create a barely-there sensation and keep you cool even in hot temperatures. The fabric is crafted from a special “twisted yarn” that harnesses the power of Ionic+Botanical® (a natural self-cleaning antimicrobial fabric) and 37.5® (an advanced thermoregulation and moisture management technology). Knit_Flow™ is designed to minimize contact between your skin and the garment, allowing air to circulate and keep you comfortable. As a result, your Salomon clothing will feel amazing even when you’re pushing yourself on a warm day, and it will stay fresh longer while remaining highly breathable.

COMFORT, STABILITY, CIRCULARITY FOR EVERY RUNNER’S NEEDS
The new DRX Bliss from Salomon has arrived, designed for runners seeking confidence and guidance in their stride. The shoe prioritizes comfort with its Energy Foam midsole, providing top-quality cushioning and a responsive, spring-like sensation with each step. As an everyday running shoe, the DRX Bliss incorporates denser Active Chassis foam technology on both sides to support and guide the foot during runs, ensuring stability. An added bonus is the comfortable, breathable collar that offers ankle support, along with SensiFit technology that wraps around the foot to ensure a secure fit. To top it off, 56% of the materials used in the upper are made from recycled materials by weight (21% of the total weight of the shoe). With a drop of 8mm and a weight of 275g (232g for women’s version), this shoe is perfect for any runner looking for comfort and sustainability.
“Runners love high-stack shoes, but some might feel a lack of stability with higher outsoles,” explains Gatien Airiau, Product Line Manager for Salomon Road running footwear. “The DRX Bliss aims to keep everything that makes a high stack great—namely the super resilient and cushy Energy Foam placed in the midsole—while providing great support. The Active Chassis does just that; it is made with light and pliable foam, creating the perfect balance between guidance and comfort.

Now in its third edition, the INDEX.03 shoe takes its sustainable mission and running performance very seriously, and with much-improved comfort for Spring/summer 2024. It uses the same bottom unit as INDEX.02, which is made of TPU, but the midsole has been updated with a lower density InfiniFOAM that runs the length of the foot for more cushion and comfort while you run. Combined with a R.Camber construction, this creates a fluid, dynamic feeling when running.
“The first version of the INDEX has now been out for 4 years, and we have been able to collect feedback from consumers using the shoe for running as well as for everyday life,” explains Olivier Mouzin, Footwear Sustainability Program Manager. “The main criticism we received was around the comfort of the shoe over time, so we decided to focus our efforts on this for the third version. Changing the foam and updating the upper has allowed us to create a shoe that is more comfortable and uses less materials, and still fully recyclable, so it’s a solid improvement overall.”
The upper construction of the Indx.03 is now made with five separate parts of fabric glued together instead of one, which allows for a more efficient use of materials, while also using undyed fabrics for a reduced carbon footprint. The INDEX.03 is still fully recyclable: by separating the upper and lower parts of the shoe, they can both be ground down and reused to make new products. The bottom unit can be mixed with virgin TPU and used to create Salomon ski boots, while the upper part made of polyester can be recycled into pieces of clothing.

Building off the successful high-stack Salomon Glide Max shoe, the Aero Glide 2 delivers maxed-out cushioning to rack up the miles. The 37mm stack midsole features Salomon’s Energy Foam technology, which combines EVA and Olefin to absorb shock and vibrations. It also delivers super plush cushioning while still providing great bounce and energy return. The result is real comfort even after hundreds of miles. The proven rocker geometry, called R.Camber, creates a quick transition every time you touch the ground and keeps you moving forward. The updated upper, made with 32% recycled materials (by weight) keeps your feet dry thanks to a more breathable and lighter 3D open mesh. It boasts the same bottom unit as the Aero Blaze (32mm stack), with Salomon’s Energy Foam technology for a soft cushion and dynamic bounce. Like the other shoes in the Salomon Aero franchise, the Aero Blaze features the super cushy Energy Foam, this time in a more normal stack (32mm), which delivers optimal comfort as well as a dynamic bounce in the bottom unit. At 235 grams, it uses 25% of recycled materials (by weight); 56% in the upper alone.
